OI and sister company, ABS, Open Second Service Facility in Eagle Ford Region

Oilfield Instrumentation (OI), along with its sister company, Advanced Building Services (ABS), a provider of custom well-site accommodations, announced the January 15 opening of its second service center in the Eagle Ford shale fields.

The Tilden center follows the westward expansion of drilling activities in the Eagle Ford play and complements the companies’ existing center in Victoria, Texas. The Tilden location of OI will offer 24/7 outfitting and servicing for real-time drilling instrumentation, satellite communication, and rental equipment by trained technicians, as well as delivery and transfer.

ABS will provide steel, skid-mounted rig-site accommodations, and on-call delivery, power-up/down, post-job retrieval and maintenance, and will also offer water hauling. The companies have dedicated five 18-wheelers to this site for equipment transportation, supporting their goals of consistently providing the quickest industry response times.

The OI-ABS service center will occupy 10,000 square feet on a five-acre parcel of land, allowing the companies to provide storage, maintenance and refurbishment services.

“Oilfield Instrumentation and Advanced Building Services are community-oriented employers,” said Peyton Reddick, president of Oilfield Instrumentation. “We have made outright purchases of real estate, equipment inventory and housing in the area in line with our commitment to be a best-in-class organization dedicated to the highest standards of operation.”

The companies also bring employment opportunities to the area, with openings for instrumentation service technicians, CDL truck drivers, and accommodations service technicians. Interested applicants should contact OI Human Resources Director Tom Walker through Oilfield Instrumentation’s website, www.oiusa.com, or ABS’s site, www.oilfieldbuildings.com.
