Oilfield Instrumentation (OI) was formed in 1988 in Broussard, Louisiana to provide the best drilling instrumentation equipment, most advanced technology, and fastest and most reliable service to the oil and gas industry. While our offerings have expanded over the years to include custom-built hazardous environment labs for sale or rent, our commitment to leading the way has remained constant.
All OI technicians are PEC (Petroleum Education Council) certified and we offer the fastest known service response time in the industry, which is partially a result of our service technician-to-wellsite ratio of 1:3, compared to common industry practices of 1:10. Our bright red service vehicles are easily recognizable throughout the Gulf Coast and beyond.
Oilfield Instrumentation’s service areas encompass offshore, inland and land drilling throughout the United States and internationally, with ongoing projects in countries such as Australia, Venezuela, Brazil and Africa. OI employs approximately 75 full-time employees, with 35+ trained technicians, many of whom are passported and ready to travel on short notice. We are proud to use premium quality vendors with certifications such as: CMM Level 3-5, Microsoft Solutions Provider, Cisco Certified and ISO 9001. All of our equipment meets MMS & Coast Guard specifications.
Continued investments in technological advancements, personnel, facilities, and equipment keep OI growing and constantly improving service to customers. We now have nine service locations across the United States, a manufacturing facility and dedicated trucking for our hazardous environment labs, and continually release new and updated software to make critical drilling information more readily available.
In 2011 alone, we announced:
- a NEW LOCATION in Bakersfield, California;
- A NEW REAL-TIME WEB MONITORING application called Rig Vision Mobile;
- an INCREASE in our rental fleet to approximately 200 hazardous environment buildings.
And we’re not stopping there. We’re currently working on our tenth location, our next drilling instrumentation software release, and automating our oilfield building manufacturing process with robotics.
